DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS

The Company was founded in June 2016. The Company markets and sells the healthcare products under its brands and packages. The products are developed by the Company’s very own research and development facility. 

Shimao Biotechnology Co., Ltd (referred to as “WTS China”) was registered on 22nd of June 2016, with registered capital of USD 3 million. The company is a 100% subsidiary of World Trade Systems Plc.


WTS China is dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare products to both the Chinese and international markets. The company is located in the city of Suzhou, China. The company’s activities include research and development, manufacturing (on an OEM basis) and sales and marketing of Nano-biotechnology and healthcare related products. This includes functional health food, skin care products and other products that help to enhance the health and life quality of consumers.
 
WTS China has a dynamic strategy for the company’s future development. The company has the management and R&D team on board with about 40 full-time employees. The main targeted markets are currently Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Shanghai and expansion is planned to launch nationwide in 2017. The key suppliers are Shanghai Bang Sirui Bio-Pharmaceutical Technology Co., Ltd., Jiang Su Hengzhi Nano Technology Co., Ltd. and Cell Biotech Co., Ltd. Taiwan.


 World Trade Systems PLC (WTS) entered into a new area after Suzhou Weibao Investment Co. Ltd became its substantial new shareholder and Dr Shao was appointed Vice Chairman of WTS Plc.

1. Research & Developement

In responding to and anticipating market needs, the R&D function conducts research and development into various ingredients and formulas. It uses its own labs to test usage of pro-types under different combinations and formula.

Development of new products usually takes thousands of tests and sometimes up to several years. Once the formula is confirmed, the Company will apply to obtain relevant patents and work with OEM partners to test market feedbacks.

2. Manufacturing

The Company outsources production to trusted manufacturers with many years of experience in this area. These OEM manufacturers take care of the entire manufacturing process and use labels provided by the Company. These products from the OEMs are then ready for the market.

3. Branding & Positioning

The Company develops its own brands and labels, and provides these labels to the OEMs who do the final packing. These products are positioned to target the mid to high-end market.

4. Sales & Marketing

The Company then sells through an extensive distribution network via traditional distributors and direct sales agents (who are paid a percentage of the sales). Other sales channels, e.g., e-commerce channels and new sales models are being developed.
